One of the best hotels in Orlando, Florida is Walt Disney World’s Dolphin. Not only is the hotel great, located in the heart of all the main attractions, but so is the website. When choosing the best hotel/resort for a special occasion or event, one looks at what the website has to offer first rather than the hotel or resort. If the website is dull, boring and has minimal descriptions, then the person looking for a decent hotel/resort will just glimpse at the site for a second and move on to the next page. This is where professional writing comes in…
When browsing the fabulous website, featuring images of the lovely Dolphin resort, it was so easy to get excited when mom told my younger sister, brother and I that this is where we would be going for my brothers 15th birthday (about 2 years ago). Though the main page has only three little paragraphs describing the different features of the resort, they are still able to catch the viewers’ attention. At least it did for me. The websites editor clearly paid attention to word mechanics and grammar and showed he/she is greatly educated in paragraph styles and techniques. For example:
The Wonder of Play
Graced by five outdoor pools, including a grotto pool with a water slide, waterfalls and white sand beach, the resort is a world to itself with nearby golf, tennis, sand volleyball courts, the new Mandara Spa, health clubs and Camp Dolphin, our supervised children's activity center
All I can say about that is my mom sure did try to dump us all (including my dad and older cousins) at the children’s activity center so she could have some time to herself and the spa. Did it work? Of course not! This paragraph is not only brief, but full of details that are so correct! The Dolphin is really a world of its own with so many things to do and see. While spending a whole week there, my family and I forgot that we were at a hotel because it is so big and beautiful connecting to everything including another resort called The Swan.
The use of visual graphics is also a plus to the website because it is so elegant and pulls you in to visit other links in the website. Having visuals is just as important as having professional writing techniques. Two thumps up Disney! :)

You are so right! and nowadays it seems that hotels are now becoming hotel/resorts so that hey can offer more to their guests.
ReplyDeleteI have never actually been a guest at this hotel but professionally I have worked an event with 2,000 attendees. The mangers at this hotel are professional and very personable. Each employee played a major role in the success of the major production.
ReplyDeleteHotels are now are becoming destinations themselves.
I wouldn't mind staying there!
ReplyDeletegood analysis of the website and visuals
