A person that is looking for good qualities of any hotel should look at 6 main categories which are amenities, cleanliness, location, comfort, prices and most of all service.
In the hospitality industry amenities are things extra that hotels provide other than a room.
Cleanliness is so important in a hotel to the health and safety of guest. Since, many people stay in the same rooms at different times it is important that it is cleaned efficiently every time to prevent, the spreading of viruses, diseases, and germs.
Location, location, location! Location determines exactly what kind of guest you attract.

Comfort is what determines a guest stay a success or not. It is the number 1 factor if the guest will return to the property again or not.

Service is what determines the hotels quality which distinguishes a good hotel from a GREAT hotel. Guest evaluates service by how friendly the staff is, and response times.
In tough economical times, pricing is a very touchy subject in the hospitality industry. There is a new trend in the hospitality industry that saves guest money and allows hotels to make money. This new trend is different websites such as Expedia, and Hotwire.Professional writing contributes to all six of these qualities that hotel needs to be sucessful.Professional writing is important to hotels quality due to proper signage, memos, and reports.

Awesome post Meghan, I would definitely want to deal with you as a hotel manager if I were on vacation. Your post was very detailed; you can tell you definitely know what good qualities to look for in a hotel. My only suggestion is maybe enlarge the pictures a little and decrease the size of the text to put a little more emphasis on your pictures. But even if you leave your post unchanged I think its grade A material.
ReplyDeleteNice job on the post! As James said it was very detailed. While I agree that maybe the text could be a few points smaller, I think the pictures are good the way they are.
ReplyDeleteGreat job on your post Meghan, love the visuals! You really know your stuff! Another thing that one would look for in a great hotel/resort is pricing. Of course the best places don't come cheap, but it does not hurt to compare pricing. One thing I would have to say is that you forgot to add your name in the title and the font could be a little smaller. Other then that great job!
ReplyDeleteI definately agree with the part on cleanliness. I've heard horror stories of people staying in roach infested hotel rooms. Needless to say, that is one of the most important things to me, besides for pricing.
ReplyDeleteGreat post, very clear and concise information.
Thank you all for your comments. I have edit my post accordingly.
ReplyDeletegreat post. are you a hospitality major? you really know your stuff.
ReplyDeleteKelly,
ReplyDeleteYes, I am a hospitality major. I know from experience but I hope to gain more knowledge as I become successful in the hospitality industry.
Excellent post!!!! If I wasn't ready for a vacation before then I am definitely ready for one now and your hotel would be first on my list to visit. Bravo!!!
ReplyDeleteOkay, you hinted at the connection between professional writing at the end. A bit more development on what goes into good signage writing, etc.
